Considering a Whippet?

Babs

When you contact a breeder about a puppy, don't phone or send an email just asking, "How much are your puppies?" Take the time to tell her a little about yourself, your home, your schedule, and why you want a whippet. Remember, you're not buying a toaster, but a pet that someone has raised with a lot of love. You may be asked more questions about yourself than you can think of to ask about the puppies!

Timbreblue Plays with Matches: Ember PDF Print E-mail

Ember left us at eight weeks to live with our friends Mark and Naydene Mitchell in Suffolk, Virginia. They bred and showed Mastiffs and wanted to add a smaller dog to the household.  Ember proved to be a real princess, took over the household, and the next thing we all knew, she was the start of the Mitchells' whippet breeding program. She was bred twice, and then Ember decided she wanted a quieter household and fewer dogs with whom to share. And just for her, Kelton and Judy Brandy materialized. This happens for whippets sometimes.

So Ember moved to Virginia Beach, where she reigns supreme.  Her daughter Flair carried on the Marnay line.  Over the years, Naydene and I have become close friends and her puppy owners join ours on an email list and at the annual reunion.
