Considering a Whippet?

The most important decision you'll make in getting a dog is the choice of breed. Many dogs end up returned to the breeder or dropped at a shelter simply because not enough thought was put into whether the breed was suitable for the home. Be very sure you want a whippet before getting one. They're great dogs but no breed is suitable for everyone!

We'd like to introduce you to the whippets we keep at home at Timbreblue in Virginia and South Carolina. We think they're pretty special, and we're very choosy about who we keep long-term. We sometimes have adult whippets available for new homes once they are finished with their breeding and showing careers. It's very bittersweet to let our whippet puppies go, but when we get those photos from their delighted new owners and hear how happy they are, it makes everything worthwhile.

Here are the whippets who call Timbreblue home...
